The American rapper used to attend the prestigious fashion event with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian but hasn’t been since 2019.
Hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, the Met Gala is one of the biggest celebrity nights of the year and getting an invite is an honor.
It takes place at The Met in New York every May and attendees must base their outfits around a theme. 2023 celebrated Karl Lagerfeld.

A video of a cockroach on the Met Gala red carpet has gone viral on Twitter and many were quick to joke it was the Donda rapper.
One person wrote: “Kanye West has arrived at the Met Gala.”
“Kanye West arriving at the Met Gala,” another joked.
A third person added: “SPOTTED – Kanye West at the Met Gala.”
“We all know deep down that the cockroach was Kanye,” another said.
The insect stole the limelight and reporters can be heard shouting “get a photo” in videos as it scurried across the floor.

Kanye was nowhere to be seen but his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and nine-year-old daughter North were there.

She was pictured leaving the hotel with her daughter, but North didn’t actually attend the prestigious New York fashion event.
The reality star told the publisher she was “in the car watching us all walk up the red carpet” – North she certainly looked the part.
She matched her mother in blue baggy jeans, a stunning beige tweed suit jacket, black chunky boots and a pearl bag.
